Hi! I'm Maya Kadar Kovalsky...

But you can call me Maya.

I am a people strategy consultant, public speaking and presentation coach, company culture and communications champion! 

In 2016, I originated the role of chief culture officer at my family’s edtech company, BrainPOP, with a focus on increasing employee professional growth, building community, and aiming to make the company an inspiring place to work at every day.  Being an owner, I saw it as my obligation to keep employees happy and motivated. 

To this end, I spent many years diving deep into the leading strategies, best practices and positive psychology behind how to create engaged employees. I was lucky to have an amazing and adventurous team with which to experiment. My passion is helping people leaders and people teams be the best that they can be.   

Before being in charge of culture, I got a taste of other work environments, teams and bosses as a product lead and operations manager at tech startups. I worked as a producer and channel programmer in the film and television industry as well as waited tables at a posh NYC restaurant. I’ve encountered the full spectrum of managers, from a boss who was hostile to one of the best bosses, who was encouraging and nurturing. I’ve learned the importance of team dynamics in creating great workplaces.
